Flying out of SeaTac, I had the opportunity to fly to Japan on a Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Through most of my flight, I hadn’t realized that the windows on the plane could automatically tint. When I neared Japan (where it was early afternoon), the sky still looked dark outside and I was confused until my window de-tinted.
Tokyo Narita airport was easy enough to navigate. The international arrivals area had SIM cards for me to get an unlimited data plan during my stay.
I took the Keisei Skyline train from Narita to Ueno Station, where I was to spend the first night of my trip. At the hotel, the doorframe was barely tall enough for me to pass through. The next morning I had to take a morning train out to Mito to meet the kenshi at Toubukan Dojo.
